Firefox AK

coverart-firefoxak.jpgHere is an actual transcript of an actual conversation I actually had:

——————–

“And that is why Canada is a theocracy.”

“Hey, whatever helps you swallow milk.”

“Generally vodka and kalhua. And milk.”

“Together? Ew!”

“It’s a White Russian, you plotz.”

“EWWWWWWW, RUSSIANS.”

——————–

Fascinating, wouldn’t you say? Now the real fun starts as you try to figure out who I am in that specific conversation. Might be harder than you think!

However, it is not hard to figure out who is singing on Firefox AK’s White Rose. It’s kind of hard to mix up Andrea Kellerman’s voice with that of husband and frequent collaborator Rasmus “Tgr Lou” Kellerman on this song; a song which is as club-friendly a track as it’s possible to hear, yet maintains a somewhat tortured resonance without compromising on its dancefloor-darling lure. In fact, the troubled, intense atmosphere clocks in early with spooky warbles and a deep, ominous groove, punctuated further with Kellerman pleading “Give me some pleasure/Give me some joy/Just give me something/I can’t destroy,” with Tgr Lou falling in with his own harrowing needfulness; a duet of modern souls in search of something better for themselves. The rich, full, thumping sound is remarkable when considering how sparsely synth arrangements are used, almost minimalistic in execution, with layers of sound sliding in only towards the final third of the song. The result is a sharp track with broad dance appeal, whose texture lies in its deceptive rawboned performance.

So while you’ve no doubt figured out who sings what, have you figured out which part of the conversation I was entreating?
