Annuals
Healthy living through healthy music
Boy, lemmie tell ya, if I were a doctor, I’d be one of the funny kind. Humour would be my thing. When people would talk about each other’s doctors, my patients would unequivocally say “Oh, my doctor is so funny!”
For instance, say a patient of mine were to ask: “Do you think my face will get red if I apply to much facial cream?” I would answer: “I don’t know. I can’t make any rash predictions!”
HAR HAR HAR! KA-ZING!
But, as a doctor of music, I can make the rash prediction that you are going to go clickety-click and download Sore, the new song by the Annuals. The six North Dakotans remain true to themselves with this slow build of a song, starting off with Adam Baker’s soft, shivery voice, elevating gently with their vast accoutrement of instrumentation, from violins to drum breaks, into a passionate, soaring, orchestral flourish. It’s a resonant, skillfully crafted piece which exploits all of the melody-making and experimentation strengths of the band. And that is (wait for it) a prescription for a good time!
KA-ZING!
